Today, Africa’s magnificent people, wildlife, and landscapes face enormous threats: climate change poses an unparalleled danger to all life on Earth, the threat of future pandemics looms with mankind’s increasing destruction of the natural world, and the future of biodiversity is at risk. The time for urgent conservation action is now.

In our 2030 Strategic Plan, first published in 2021 and updated in 2025, African People & Wildlife shares our bold vision for the coming years. Together with communities and other partners, we will help tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges by driving effective, measurable, and lasting outcomes for people and the planet – both in Tanzania and beyond.
