In 2021, African People & Wildlife conducted an in-depth evaluation of the Women’s Beekeeping Initiative. Our goal was to study the program’s impact on the lives of female beekeepers and identify areas for improvement and adaptation.
Conserving Northern Tanzania’s Large Carnivores
Northern Tanzania is home to some of Africa’s most threatened populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and African wild dogs. All three of Tanzania’s big cats are classified as Vulnerable by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, while African wild dogs are classified as Endangered.

‘Tarangire: Our Heritage, Our Future’ Film Brings the National Park Experience to Tanzania’s Youth
On October 22, 2021, a group of Tanzanian youth experienced the beauty and wonder of Tarangire National Park for the first time – through film. African People & Wildlife (APW) premiered ‘Tarangire: Our Heritage, Our Future’ at Regalz Cinemaxx in Arusha, Tanzania following a period when its annual Tarangire National Park trips for rural youth were paused due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
