Ramadhani Juma Issaka joined Tanzania People & Wildlife as a Rangeland Management Program Officer in 2023. In this role, he supports community rangeland monitors, participates in community engagement activities, and ensures the collection of quality rangeland data to inform management decisions.
Ramadhani is from Loibor Siret, Simanjiro, and has an understanding and appreciation of Maasai culture. He was a Noloholo Environmental Scholar in 2011 and later returned as a volunteer in 2021 after completing his studies. Ramadhani holds a BSc. in Animal Science from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) and specializes in animal health and production.
Ramadhani's experience and knowledge of the local community make him a valuable member of the TPW team. His work with the Sustainable Rangelands Initiative will help the organization achieve conservation goals at a time when grasslands and pastoralists face drought and climate extremes.
