Loshiro Alais Morindat has served as Tanzania People & Wildlife’s Rangeland Management Program Officer since 2015. He received his bachelor’s degree from Tumaini University and is currently working towards his master’s degree in development studies at the University of Dar es Salaam. Much of Loshiro's time is spent in local community meetings discussing population increases, water use, farming procedures, and dry and wet season grazing patterns. He also trains community representatives how to measure the quality of their pastures. Loshiro is motivated by the challenge of improving the livelihoods of local Maasai communities while simultaneously protecting the surrounding environment from the impact of negative agricultural practices.
