About the Film

"Twiga: Sentinels of Engaruka" is a captivating 30-minute documentary that follows a population of endangered giraffes and the Maasai community in the Engaruka Valley, which serves as a vital wildlife connector in northern Tanzania. As giraffes face threats like habitat fragmentation and degradation, pastoralists face related challenges moving across communal rangelands to pursue green and healthy pastures.

In the search for conservation solutions, you’ll be introduced to a young Maasai woman serving as a community rangeland monitor who works to combat the challenges threatening the valley she calls home – and all its inhabitants.
