Virginia Lynch Dean is a filmmaker, conservation advocate, and arts professional with a distinguished record of nonprofit leadership and environmental engagement. Her work spans documentary filmmaking, strategic fundraising, and community development.
Dean is the Director and Producer of Ghost Mountain: The Second Killing Fields, a historical documentary now airing on PBS in perpetuity. She is also the author of Chief Crazy Snake: The Untold Story of Roy Hoffman & Chitto Harjo.
She has served on the executive committee for The Chapin School Capital Campaign, the Governing and Sustaining Boards of Memorial Sloan Kettering, and the Board of the YMCA/YWCA of Greater New York. A passionate advocate for women’s leadership in exploration and science, she was a founding member of WINGS WorldQuest, a nonprofit that supports and honors extraordinary women in science and discovery.
